NAB Show Comes to Las Vegas

The NAB Show – National Association of Broadcasters Show – will be in Las Vegas from April 5th through April 10th. From the NAB Show press release: “NAB Show, held April 5-10, 2014 in Las Vegas, is the world’s largest electronic media show covering filmed entertainment and the development, management and delivery of content across all mediums. With more than 93,000 attendees from 156 countries and 1,550+ exhibitors, NAB Show is the ultimate marketplace for digital media and entertainment. From creation to consumption, across multiple platforms and countless nationalities, NAB Show is home to the solutions that transcend traditional broadcasting and embrace content delivery to new screens in new ways.” So, in plain English, the NAB show is the biggest gathering of national and international people who work in the broadcasting, video production, and tech fields associated with those things. And being the smart people they are, they’re doing it in Vegas. Yeah! While all industry shows bring people of that industry together to network, learn about new products and strategies, and foster a creative, productive environment, some shows do it better than other. NAB show is definitely in the “better” category: with keynote speeches from people who matter to the industry the most (FCC Chairman Tom Wheeler, 4 FCC commissioners) as well as luncheons with TV and movie producers, NAB show covers just about every base anyone in the industry could care about. The producers of the show have made a promotional video on their YouTube channel, which seems to be the theme of this year’s show. We’re not really sure, the video isn’t very…informative. But we like the music. Shows like these can help shape the future of broadcasting – we here at Big Traffic are pretty stoked to see what comes out of this show (4k TV mainstreaming, anyone?). Fore more information, you can check out NAB Show’s website, and I’m sure there will be plenty of reporting about it in the coming weeks.
